Description
Taro Hirano Little More, 2005. Pool is a beautiful documentation of the arid swimming pools across the residential American west coast. These desolate pools have been neglected after being relinquished of their original function, yet what Hirano is suggesting has nothing to do with the pools former lives but what they have become, a gathering place for local skaters. These ruined pools offer the skateboarders an opportunity and the pools a second life. Hirano photographs these worn landscapes while deserted revealing the beautiful curves of the pools, the graffiti that has adorned them and the hushed air of suspense before the skateboarders arrive.
