Cosey Fanni Tutti Magazine Actions 1972 – 1980
Provoking both feminists and conventionalists in equal measure, Cosey’s forays into the world of the sex industry can perhaps be better understood as an extension of her boundary pushing performance art as both a solo artist and founding member of the notorious COUM Transmissions collective, established in Hull in the late 1960’s with Genesis P-Orridge. Cosey Fanni Tutti’s experiments with sex work and pornography during the 70’s and 80’s flagrantly blurred the lines between sex, exploitation and art.
